- The Wheat Quarter is the site of the old Shredded Wheat factory in Welwyn Garden City. The colossal factory is just a 1-minute walk from Welwyn Garden City train station, reachable via a short train journey from Kings Cross Station, or from any stop on the Northbound Thameslink line (Finsbury Park, Moorgate, Old Street, Highbury & Islington etc.)
The Waldorf Project is staged under the concept of a Japanese emotion called “AMAE”, which means “a temporary surrender in perfect safety”. The Project is an experimental performance which deals with a spectrum of emotional experiences, ranging from the gentle to the more dark – but always, in a context in which you should feel safe. This performance however, is NOT for everyone.
WE INSIST YOU DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU SUFFER FROM EPILEPSY OR IF THERE IS A HISTORY OF EPILEPSY/ SEIZURES IN YOUR FAMILY.
Prolonged intense strobe lights are used during the performance. Though every care has been taken to ensure your safety and well being during this part of the performance, there is still a chance of an adverse reaction and we are not able to accept any responsibility should this occur. Please contact us if you require further information.
We insist you don’t buy a ticket if you suffer from; Nyctophobia – Fear of the dark / Aphenphosmphobia – Fear of being touched / Aquaphobia – Fear of getting wet / Automysophobia – Fear of getting dirty / Somniphobia – Fear of going to sleep, Asthma and especially Epilepsy. We are unable to admit women at any stage of pregnancy. We are unable to admit guests with casts for broken appendages.
You will be required to change out of your clothes upon arrival into our uniform. You will be required to remove your socks and shoes.
Please wear NO perfume/cologne, NO make up, NO jewellery (rings, bracelets, earrings or necklaces), NO watches. If you have long hair you must pull it back in a ponytail or headband.
Even though you will be interacting with gastronomy, the Waldorf Project is NOT a restaurant, it is an art performance. Due to the complexity of the event we cannot change the menu for guests with particular dietary requirements, but it does contain no meat. For allergy purposes, the menu contains: gluten, eggs, milk, mustard, treenuts, peanuts, soya, sulphur dioxide and ALCOHOL. If you are unsure, please contact us before booking, as tickets are non-refundable.
Please arrive on time, as latecomers cannot be admitted. Admittance and sales of tickets to guests 18 years or older.
The event includes an element of audience participation and interacting with an industrial environment. Even though there is no reason why anyone should suffer any injury, please be aware that you are entering the space and experiencing the event entirely at your own risk.
As this an interactive performance, you will be required to check all handbags, coats, phones, watches and jewellery. Although great care will be taken to monitor the cloak room, please be advised you are checking all items at your own risk and we strongly advise for you to leave as many of these items as you can at home.
Accessibility: Please note that many elements of the experience will involve some physical activity and moving between different parts of a large environment. Unfortunately due to complexity of the industrial space we are unable to accommodate guests in wheelchairs or using crutches.
